College Days at SJS!!

 Thursdays in October, all sessions start at 2:00 p.m. @ SJS 

Join us to hear college and university professionals discuss the process of getting into college and how to make the most of it.  
SJS students, parents and ASPIRE volunteers are encouraged to attend these presentations 
and other area high school families are welcome!
 
All sessions are approximately 50-60 minutes with time to ask questions!

Taking the SAT/ACT
Everything you always wanted to know about the SAT and ACT - what's the difference, what's new, how to prepare, strategies for taking the tests and how colleges use the scores in the admissions process.

The Application Process
A round table discussion with  college admission pros - what colleges and universities look for in applicants, the application process, tips for successfully completing the common application, and the pros and cons of early decision + tips and advice on making the College Fair work for you.

Understanding Financial Aid
The basics of financial aid -  who qualifies, how to apply and when to do it, elements of the financial aid 'package', scholarships and other resources.

Writing Admissions Essays
How to get started, how to construct a meaningful essay, a review of the writing process, what colleges are looking for in the essays.
